Korea Craft Design Association 2021
Congratulatory Message I would like to congratulate Invited International Korea Craft Designers Association Annual Exhibition 2021. Especially this year, the exhibition is being held at the Korean American Cultural Center of Michigan. Last year was a difficult time for all of us. We could realize that how precious everyday small routines are, for example, going to a restaurant having a meal, drinking tea with friends having a conversation, going to school or work, going on a trip and etc. How important is the time you spend with your family. In that sense, I am very fortunate to be holding this exhibition again this year. As the time to stay at home increases, I was able to observe more objects and environments near me. I realized again that many things surrounding me are the result of design in the end. History has passed, technology has developed, and society has transformed into a more complex structure. Along with this, humanity is craving and developing new and better designs. Design is the result of knowledge, aesthetic sensibility, and technology mingled together. It is difficult to expect satisfactory results with only knowledge and skills. In addition to this, it is a time design that considers human value is needed. In this regard, the annual KCDA exhibition is a great opportunity to make people think about the meaning of design. It is a great pleasure to be able to hold an exhibition with artists from over 25 countries in difficult times when you can’t freely travel around the world. I really appreciate the artists who participated and look forward to seeing you again next year with great works. Thank you. Hyung Kyu Lee Chairman, Korea Craft Design Association
