Korea Craft Design Association 2021

Welcome to Great Lake State Michigan! First of all, I am very pleased to hold Invited International Korea Craft Designers Association Annual Exhibition 2021 at Korean American Cultural Center of Michigan. The Korean American Cultural Center of Michigan has held exhibitions and conferences introducing cultures and arts from around the world as part of its cultural projects. In particular, many efforts have been made to introduce Korean culture to the United States and to help people from other countries to understand Korea. There are many kinds of exchanges between countries around the world like political exchanges, trade exchanges to buy and sell goods, and historical exchanges to influence each other. Among them, I think one of the important ways to understand other countries is art exchange. Even with different languages, different races and different ideologies, art has power to change people. We can express emotions, thoughts, and imaginations through art. Art is a common language to communicate with other people. Contemporary art approaches the public in various ways. It is a new driving force for various communities, and creates values that our society can share. We are all at a very important point. We should try to find the way to live with love rather than disbelief, forgiveness rather than hate, together rather than division. I hope this KCDA exhibition, where artists from more than 25 countries gather help people to rethink the value of art and try to see the meaning of life from a different angle. Thank you very much.
